John Krasinski Starts YouTube Show Dedicated To Good News
There’s a lot of scary, depressing news out there, and — understandably — people are looking for good news. Happily, John Krasinski (from The Office, A Quiet Place and other roles) has got us all covered.
His new YouTube show, Some Good News with John Krasinski launched yesterday (March 30) sees the actor reporting on good news from his home. It’s a very DIY operation: his daughters designed the logo, and he crowdsourced his stories, by asking his Twitter followers to share some good news with him.

Among the stories that he covered in his first episode: a 15-year old girl who just returned home after her last chemo treatment, and her friends gave her a great social distancing greeting (Krasinski actually interviewed the girl). He also talked about the different instances of people thanking hospital workers, and about one person who left toilet paper and hand sanitizer for his delivery people.
He also noted that The Office premiered fifteen years ago, and made fun of his character’s haircut. Steve Carell — the show’s “Entertainment Correspondent” — was Krasinski’s special guest. Krasinski noted that he was a waiter when the show started and after they shot the pilot, he went back to waiting tables, “‘Cause I was sure nothing would happen with it.” Keeping with the positivity of Krasinski’s show, Carell recalled that one of the great things about the show was that the cast members all supported each other and celebrated each other’s talents. They also talked about some of their favorite scenes, including the one where Jim mimics Dwight Schrute.
Krasinski closed the show by saying, “We’ll see you next time,” without saying when the show would air again. But during the credits viewers are prompted to subscribe, because “We just might do this again.” The show also has its own Facebook page, a Twitter account and an Instagram account .
