Nick Gordon’s official cause of death has been revealed. According to TMZ, his toxicology and autopsy show that he died of a heroin overdose. Also in his system was Narcan, a drug to counteract the effect of an overdose. As reported, Nick Gordon passed away on New Year’s Day after he was found in cardiac arrest and unresponsive. He was in the hospital for seven days before he died.

Nick Gordon was the boyfriend of Bobbi Kristina, Whitney Houston’s daughter. Bobby Kristina died in 2015 after being found face down and unconscious in a bathtub. Afterward, Nick was found liable for her death and was ordered to pay her family over $36 million in a wrongful death lawsuit, according to E! News. They add, “Nick denied any wrongdoing and was never charged with a crime relating to her death. Bobbi Kristina’s family won their civil case against him by default, after he failed to appear for two hearings.”

Nick Gordon was 29 when he passed away.
