Miguel Releases New Single ‘Funeral’
“Send my regards to the mother and father cause somebody’s daughter I just f—ing slayed,” Miguel sings on the hook of his new single “Funeral.” “Blood on the carpet, it came from my heart, once I start I can’t stop it and now we all pray.”
The smooth R&B crooner’s last effort was his 2017 album War & Leisure and his 2019 EP Te Lo Dije which was a five-track offering of songs from War & Leisure but in Spanish.
Miguel also appeared on Alicia Keys’ 2019 single “Show Me Love,” following his 2018 single “Python.” “Funeral” was released on Friday (Nov. 1), and Miguel took to Instagram to announce it.

A few days prior, Miguel teased the idea of dropping new music. “Palo santo papi. Might f— around and drop music enough [scorpion] emojis he wrote on Instagram, as the caption of a black and white photo of himself holding a candle and wearing a huge grin.
“Funeral” deviates from Miguel’s usual smooth and sauntering R&B tunes and falls more on the pop side, carrying a heavy bass-line. Listen to “Funeral” below.
