Trina Interviews Solange For ‘L’Officiel’ Magazine
Rapper Trina recently interviewed singer Solange for the Fall 2019 issue of French publication L’Officiel magazine. In the issue, Solange talks about how she’s redefining popular culture, one performance at a time.

During the beginning of the interview, Trina calls Solange “a breath of fresh air.”
“Thank you. Thank you for all that you’ve done to empower the fu– out of us,” Solange replied. “If I need to unapologetically feel like I can smash ya sh– and feel fine as hell doing so, I put on you and that’s that.”
Trina told Solange that she was “ahead of her time” and that she’s “organically creative.”
“I really try to embody all of it, even the parts I’m unclear on so that maybe, in some way of representing that part, too…I’ll find the answer,” Solange replied. “But there are certainly some days where I have to work a lot harder to own my fears. That’s what I’ve been trying to work on the most this past year. Moving past fear. It may look like I’m owning all of it, but some days I’m most certainly struggling, too.”
When Solange took to Instagram to announce her interview, she thanked Trina and referenced their conversation regarding fear. “I love you @trinarockstarr thank u for reminding me fear is not of me when I needed to hear it the most,” she wrote in the caption of her post.
“There are always going to be days of uncertainty, which causes fear. But know deep fear is only there because it’s testing you for something greater. The more you stare fear in the face, the more it disappears because it can’t compete where it don’t compare,” Trina told Solange.
Solange also spoke out the lack of fear while she created her latest project When I Get Home.
“I had so many tests in front of me and something really guided me at all times. Stood alongside me. Held my hand. Lifted me up,” Solange said. “I feel my most sure and beautiful when I am creating the work. When I am thick in the midst of my own guidance. When I am done creating, that’s another story.”
