Beyonce Reportedly Rakes In $300 Million From Uber Investment
Beyonce has reportedly banked $300million from her early Uber investments.
The ride-share company went public on Friday, making its stock available to anyone who wants to purchase it on the New York Stock Exchange, so a myriad of investors who invested in Uber early have coins coming their way, reports Inside Edition.
Jay-Z, Ashton Kutcher, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Leonardo DiCaprio are other early investors in Uber, who are expected to end up with millions in profit.
About six years ago, Beyonce performed at a private party by Uber and instead of taking her usual estimated $6million fee, she was given a small percentage of the company; that percentage, apparently, could be worth $300 million today.
Beyonce’s husband Jay-Z invested in Uber as early as 2011, according to That Grape Juice.
“If you were an early investor … this may be an opportunity which may only come around once in a lifetime,” Deirdre Bosa of CNBC told Inside Edition. “A lot of the people you are talking about, Lance Armstrong, Jay-Z, Jeff Bezos, even Jeff Schmidt of Google, they got in early through word of mouth really.”
Lance Amstrong also invested in Uber early on and he said that his investment “saved” his life after his endorsement deals dried up in the midst of his doping scandal.
