Pamela Anderson Slams Arrest of Rumored Ex-Boyfriend Julian Assange

Pam Anderson may not be top of mind when you think of someone to weigh in on global headlines, but that’s just what the actress did Thursday.
The former Baywatch star and model railed against the arrest of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, calling out the U.K. and Ecuador over the news.
Posting a link for her followers to donate to “Defend Wikileaks,” she also got political over her close friend’s situation.
“I am in shock..” she Tweeted. “He looks very bad. How could you Equador? (Because he exposed you). How could you UK? Of course – you are America’s (expletive) and you need a diversion from your idiotic Brexit (expletive).”

While Anderson has been linked to soccer player Adil Rami since 2017, she has been open about her romantic feelings for Assange, whom she met in 2014.
“There’s definitely a romantic kind of connection ’cause it’s a romantic struggle,” she told Fox News last year. “We have this closeness … he’s not close to people like he is to me.”
But last year, she told Good Morning Britain, “I wouldn’t call it romance, I already have romance in my life. Can one man do it all?”
Regardless, Anderson has remained an ardent supporter and friend of Assange. She visited him multiple times while he was under asylum in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, where he has been since 2012. Assange, who is an Australian national, took refuge at the country’s embassy to avoid extradition to Sweden following a rape charge. The charges were later dropped, but he was still being sought by the U.K. for skipping bail.
He was found guilty Thursday of failing to surrender to court in London. He is also facing charges from the US connected to the massive information leak that took place over several years, beginning in 2011. According to BBC News, Assange is facing a charge of conspiracy to commit computer intrusion for allegedly assisting former US intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning in downloading classified databases.
Assange has not been seen in some time as he has reportedly been afraid of stepping outside of the Ecuadorian Embassy for fear of extradition to the US.
