The Carters, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, and More Win 2019 Brit Awards
Last night, the 2019 Brit Awards took place.
The Carters — aka Jay-Z and Beyonce — won for Best International Group, beating out Brockhampton, First Aid Kit, Nile Rodgers & Chic, and Twenty One Pilots.
Beyonce took to Instagram to thank “the Brits”.
She shared a photo of herself with her husband, Jay Z in front of a painting of Meghan Markle and wrote, “Thank you to the Brits for the award for Best International Group. I won this award back in 2002 with my besties, Kelly and Michelle. How lucky am I to have been in a group with my other best friend, the GOAT Hova. ???????? In honor of Black History Month, we bow down to one of our Melanated Monas. Congrats on your pregnancy! We wish you so much joy.”
Toronto rapper Drake took home the award for Best International Solo Male. He also shared his gratefulness via Instagram. He shared a photo of a “Summer House Hackney East London” sweatshirt and wrote, “Thank you @brits for the International Male of the Year Award ???? maddddddnessssssssss.”

Jorja Smith won Best British Female Solo and Little Mix ft. Nicki Minaj won Best British Artist Video of the Year for “Woman Like Me”.

Like many other artists, Smith also shared her excitement of winning via Instagram. The singer shared a photo of her accepting her award and wrote “Such an honour to have won British Female Solo Artist @brits ????????The levels of women in this category are the reason I didn’t expect this. Thank you!”
Ariana Grande was also among winners and snagged an award for Best International Female Solo.
