Need-To-Know Academy Award Info & Tips For Your Oscar Party
If you’re a die-hard Academy Awards watcher, or a luke-warm Oscar Party person – here’s the info you need to know for March 4.
When does the Academy Awards officially kick off?
You can start to watch the countdown at 1 P.M. Eastern Time / 10 A.M. Pacific Time according to E!, called Countdown To The Red Carpet: The Academy Awards special on their network, and you can then watch Live From The Red Carpet: 2018 Oscars starting 5 P.M. Eastern / 2 P.M. Pacific.
The ACTUAL telecast on ABC will start at 8 P.M. Eastern / 5 P.M. Pacific – with some pre-shows, as per normal Award Show etiquette.
Can you stream the Oscars?
You can! What a time to be alive! The Academy Awards will be live streaming on ABC Go and the ABC App. You can also catch it on TV apps like YouTube TV, Sling TV, DirecTv, and Playstation Vue, according to E!, if you subscribe to that service. Unfortunately, if you’re a rabid need-to-know-who-won type of person – you will have to wait if you’ve only got Hulu until the following morning.
Who’s Hosting?1
Jimmy Kimmel. Let’s see what antics he gets up to this time. We don’t think anything can top his Tourist Skit from last year.
Who’s Nominated? (Duh, that’s, uh… like… the most important part!)
