As 'Today' kicked off the New Year, they did so with Hoda Kotb joining Savannah Guthrie at the anchor's desk. Don't think she's giving up those wine segments just yet though.
Kotb will be taking over Matt Lauer's position after he was axed for his behavioral issues, and Kotb will also continue to host the 4th quarter of the show with Kathie Lee Gifford.
The girls geeked out this morning, as E! quotes Guthrie saying "Well, there is no one I would rather sit next to in 2018 than you."
Hoda says "I am pinching myself... I think we should send some medics to Alexandria, Va., where my mom has likely fainted after hearing the open of that show!"
Congrats, and #GirlPower to 'Today!'
