Stop us if you’ve heard this one before, but could Fayetteville finally see a little snow this week? If our great friends who help predict our always unpredictable weather have anything to say about it, the answer is yes… maybe.
After last weekend’s icy mix in Fayetteville, that looked like what a snow storm would be if you ordered it on Wish, you’d be forgiven for being a little suspicious of the likelihood.
But there’s more afoot this time that maybe will have us at least seeing SOMETHING other than ice dripping from our bushes.
Here’s the setup:
According to the National Weather Service, there’s almost certainly some wintry precipitation coming Thursday night through early Saturday. That’s promising, because a super (and we mean super) cold front of arctic air is heading our way for about that same time.
Mix really, really cold air in Fayetteville with precipitation, and you get… SNOW! But there’s a catch (there always is around here). Since we’re KINDA close to the ocean, we have to see how a low pressure system does off the coast. If that tracks far enough out, we’ll see more precipitation. If it doesn’t… well, things might be a little icy.
As of now though, things look GOOD. But don’t take our word for it, let’s see what the weather professionals have to say about it. We’ll keep an eye on things and keep you updated. For now, stay warm and maybe get your milk and bread orders locked in now, before things get crazy.
