Taylor Swift attends the 2019 Billboard Women In Music at Hollywood Palladium on December 12, 2019 in Los Angeles, California.

On Friday (November 12), Taylor Swift unveiled Red (Taylor’s Version), a rerecording of her acclaimed 2012 album Red, as part of her ongoing mission to regain ownership of her early music.

Taylor’s version features nine “vault” tracks that were written for the original 2012 record but didn’t end up on the final product. This is Swift’s second re-recorded album after Fearless, with plans to re-record all six albums she released before her masters were sold to Scooter Braun in 2019.

Following the release of Red (Taylor’s Version), Swift thanked her 89 million Twitter followers: “It never would have been possible to go back & remake my previous work, uncovering lost art & forgotten gems along the way if you hadn’t emboldened me. Red is about to be mine again, but it has always been ours. Now we begin again. Red (my version) is out.”
