The early 2000s gave us some of the best pop music out there. Artists like Beyonce, Britney Spears and Alicia Keys were constantly getting played, but the emergence of rock bands like Evanescence and Linkin Park hitting the mainstream airwaves were getting recognition, too. Hip-hop artists Outkast and 50 Cent both had completely different sounds and yet both received high critical acclaim for their respective albums.

• Come Clean - Hilary Duff

  Like most Disney stars, Hilary Duff pursued a singing career in the early 2000s. “Come Clean” was featured in the trailer of her 2004 movie, A Cinderella Story, in which she stars alongside Chad Michael Murray, Jennifer Coolidge, and Regina King.

• In Da Club - 50 Cent

  You can’t be in any club on someone’s birthday and NOT hear “In Da Club” still being played today.

• Hey Mama - The Black Eyed Peas

  Elephunk, Black Eyed Peas’ third studio album featured this hit amongst other greats like “Let’s Get It Started” and “Where Is The Love?”

• Hey Ya! - OutKast

  For those who don’t know, “Hey Ya!” was part of a double album titled Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, which included songs by André “3000” Benjamin and Antwan “Big Boi” Patton. The Love Below was originally supposed to be a solo album, but at the last minute, management and the record company said it wasn’t a good time to do that, so Big Boi did Speakerboxxx.

• Numb - Linkin Park

  If you’re like the rest of us, you became a fan of Linkin Park after hearing this song on the radio.

• Toxic - Britney Spears

  Britney’s provocative music video to “Toxic” is one that we’ll remember for the rest of our lives.

• Turn Me On - Kevin Lyttle

  What ever happened to Kevin Lyttle? His song “Turn Me On” came out in 2003 and we haven’t heard any new music get radio play after his self-titled debut studio album released in 2004.

• You Don't Know My Name - Alicia Keys

  From her second studio album, The Diary of Alicia Keys, we still listen to this song today.
