We can’t always expect celebrities to be impeccably dressed (that’s their stylists’ job, right?) But let’s be honest, where’s the fun in talking about flawless fashion all the time? Admit it, aside…

But let’s be honest, where’s the fun in talking about flawless fashion all the time? Admit it, aside from checking out the best dressed celebs at the Golden Globes, you’re also eagerly waiting for the celebrities who committed fashion crimes during awards night. After all, it’s all part of show business!
Golden Globes 2025 Worst Dressed
Here’s our list of stars who we considered to have taken fashion risks for the Golden Globes 2025 that didn’t quite pay off.
Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande’s strapless, golden-beige gown was a rare miss. The ‘Wicked’ star is known for her usually flattering fashion choices, especially while doing press tour for 'Wicked,' seemed to get lost in her Golden Globes ensemble. With a sequined top and long white gloves, the outfit seemed to be going in different directions and overwhelmed her petite frame, making it look like the gown was wearing her rather than the other way around.
Melissa McCarthy

We love Melissa McCarthy! She’s a funny actress but we’re not happy with her choice of outfit for the Golden Globes. Her pink jumpsuit could have worked on its own but the cape with its layers upon layers of ruffles seemed to overwhelm her.
Ali Wong

Another comedian who missed the fashion mark is Ali Wong. She showed up in a red frilly dress that we’re sorry to say reminded us of a piñata. Adding to the mismatch were her long black gloves, and while her hair was long, black, and shiny, it looked a bit too underwhelming for an awards show. But hey, congratulations for winning Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television!
Andrew Scott

We appreciate Andrew Scott's bold decision to steer away from the typical black suit and stand out from the other male attendees at the Golden Globes. However, he stood out in a way we doubt he intended. Turquoise just isn’t his color, especially for a three-piece suit. To make matters worse, his pants looked ill-fitting, and the black boots clashed with the ensemble rather than complement it.
Kathryn Hahn

The ‘Agatha All Along’ star attended the Golden Globes wearing a two-tone ensemble. Sadly, she was not able to conjure herself a more appropriate outfit. We deem her long sleeves, off shoulder black blouse with an uneven hem and a mustard-colored long skirt is too casual for the affair. Her E! Glambot twirl is phenomenal, though.
Jeremy Strong

Jeremy Strong’s outfit could have worked if it’s not made of velour and if he isn’t wearing the matching bucket hat. Velour is an appropriate fabric for a black gala event but perhaps not in mint.
Kaley Cuoco

Frumpy isn't a word we'd usually associate with Kaley Cuoco, as ‘The Big Bang Theory’ actress is anything but. However, her outfit for the Golden Globes hid her silhouette, and her open-toed footwear made the whole ensemble feel too casual. The choice of material was also less than ideal, leaving her looking underdressed for a high profile red carpet event.
Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington is usually featured on the best-dressed lists, but her ensemble at the Golden Globes landed her on the opposite end. First of all, we couldn’t understand why they chose this material for her dress. The outfit looked like a wrinkled train wrapped around Washington.
Lydia Brosnahan

Rachel Brosnahan’s (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) little sister joined her on the red carpet, but unfortunately, Rachel couldn’t lend her impeccable fashion sense to Lydia. Lydia’s gray outfit completely washed her out, and the loose-fitting dress hid her curves. Had it been properly fitted and in a different color, it might have worked. This isn’t the kind of dress you’d expect to see at an event where the best-dressed personalities usually gather. We do love her pointy shoes, though.
Eddie Redmayne

Eddie Redmayne might have been bored wearing traditional suits but his Valentino black and checked suit is overwhelming (and not in a good way). It’s dizzying to look at and it could have been better if it was toned down a little. It might have worked at a different event, but it didn't feel like a "Golden Globes" outfit.
Timothée Chalamet

We might get flak for including him on this list, but we know Timothée Chalamet can do better. His method dressing during the ‘Dune’ press tours was impeccable (perhaps co-star Zendaya’s style was rubbing off on him), but his Golden Globes outfit was surprisingly underwhelming. We had high expectations and were ultimately let down.
