According to People, CrazySexyCool — The TLC Musical, set to debut this summer in Washington, D.C., has locked in its leading trio, putting three rising performers in the spotlight to portray one of the most influential groups in music history.
Meet the Cast: Bringing TLC to Life
Taking on the role of Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins is Holli’ Gabrielle Conway, a Broadway veteran whose résumé includes Tina: The Tina Turner Musical and Lempicka.
Jade Milan steps in as Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, coming off her run in Alicia Keys’ Hell’s Kitchen and past performances in The Lion King.
Rounding out the trio is Stoney B. Woods as Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, with credits spanning The Book of Mormon, television appearances, and her own Emmy-nominated children’s series.
The production is named after TLC’s 1994 blockbuster album CrazySexyCool. It is built around the group’s catalog, including "Waterfalls," Creep, "No Scrubs," and "Unpretty." But it is not just a jukebox musical. The show will also dig into the complicated moments behind the fame.
More Than Just the Hits
The show is expected to explore their rapid rise, internal tensions, financial struggles, and the personal loss that reshaped the group forever.
Writer and director Kwame Kwei-Armah, known for One Love: The Bob Marley Musical, is leading the creative vision, with choreography by Chloe O. Davis. The show will run from June 12 through August 9, with an official press night scheduled for June 26.
For TLC, this musical feels personal. “The moment we saw Holli’, Jade, and Stoney bring our music to life onstage, we felt an immediate connection,” Watkins said in a statement.
