The Fayetteville History Museum will host free events across February to honor Black History Month. Guests can choose from self-guided gallery activities or E. E. Smith House tours.

A self-guided scavenger hunt runs during regular hours. Questions and answers about African American history hide within the exhibits. Families can join at no cost throughout the month.

Staff members will guide tours through the E. E. Smith House at 135 Blount Street on Feb. 13 and Feb. 27 from 10 to 11 a.m. Dr. Ezekiel Ezra Smith owned this home, an educator who influenced countless students and shaped his town. Guests must call ahead to secure their spot.

All events welcome people of any age. Museum galleries tell stories about how the Black community influenced local history. February's programs aim to teach guests about African American heritage through hands-on learning and guided tours.

Admission is free for all February programs. The self-guided activity needs no advance registration, but house tours require a phone call to book.
