The 35th Pembroke Day festival hits UNC Pembroke this Thursday, October 16. From 3 to 7 p.m., the campus Quad transforms into a bustling fair between Old Main and Mary Livermore Library.

Free activities fill this outdoor celebration. Students can check out local shops, join campus clubs, and meet neighbors. At the Health Fair, staff offer quick medical checks and vital tips for staying well.

Music fills the air throughout the day. Mark McKinney & Co. take the stage, while UNC Pembroke's Concert Band strikes up familiar tunes. The Spirit of the Carolinas marchers add their beat, with Lumbee ambassadors joining the mix.

No one goes hungry at this event. Free hot dogs and pulled pork make the rounds. Want something different? Food trucks line up with tasty options for purchase.

Since 1990, this town-and-gown gathering has brought campus and community closer. Each fall, it opens doors between students and local groups.

The fun got wild last year. In a playful twist, swim team members let classmates toss pies their way.

Booths pack the grounds, selling goods and handing out freebies. Medical pros stand ready to chat about wellness and point visitors toward helpful services.

Rain date? Wednesday, Oct. 22. The festival spreads across the heart of campus, turning the space between buildings into a community hub.
