Ariana Grande Finalizes Divorce From Dalton Gomez
Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez’s divorce has been officially finalized. According to gossip website TMZ, a judge signed off on Tuesday (March 19), with the former couple’s previously agreed-to settlement taking effect. Per legal documents obtained by the gossip site, Grande and Gomez’s nearly three-year marriage is legally over.
Despite the couple being no more and Grande’s latest album release being clearly about her ex, she has vocalized to fans that she doesn’t want them coming after Dalton. In her eternal sunshine title track, Grande hints that the Los Angeles luxury real estate agent cheated on her. She sings: “I’ve never seen someone lie like you do. So much, even you start to think it’s true.” Later in the song, she adds, “Now she’s in my bed, layin’ on your chest.”

Arianators have been inspired to leave negative online reviews about her ex-husband’s business and threaten him online. Taking to social media after apparently being made aware of the actions, Grande, 30, wrote on her Instagram Stories at the time: “Hi I just wanted to say anyone that is sending hateful messages to the people in my life based on your interpretation of this album is not supporting me and is absolutely doing the polar opposite of what I would ever encourage (and is entirely Misinterpreting the intention Behind the music)… I ask that you please do not. It is not how to support me. It is the opposite.”
Adding more context, the pop icon said, “Although the album captures a lot of painful moments, it also is woven together with a through line of deep, sincere love. If you cannot hear that, please listen more closely. Thank you.”
As we previously reported, Ari and Dalton simultaneously filed to dissolve their marriage in September after they separated eight months earlier. About a month later, she and Dalton settled their divorce. The couple had a prenup in place, so Gomez received a sum of $1,250,000 tax-free and half of the net proceeds from the sale of his and Grande’s LA home. Additionally, Grande will pay up to $25,000 of Gomez’s attorney’s fees. In her divorce filing, she cited “irreconcilable differences” and listed February 20 as her and Gomez’s date of separation.
The “imperfect for you” singer started dating Dalton during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their very low-profile romance seemed to be perfect, and the pair married a year later. Per the gossip site, once the COVID restrictions were lifted, their relationship quickly went downhill as Dalton was jealous of Ariana's celebrity status and her traveling for work to film Wicked. After they separated, Ariana started dating actor co-star Ethan Slater in July 2023 and the couple appears to still be going strong. Apparently, Dalton has moved on with a new partner as well.
