MUST WATCH: Virginia Woman Sets Record For The Loudest Female Burp
Think about some of the greatest achievements in American history. We mastered human flight, we have our flag on the moon, and with the advent of the internet we’ve made the world more connected than ever before. And just when you thought we ran out of things to be the absolute best at, a young woman from Virginia named Kimberly Winter put America back in the record books as host to the loudest burp from a woman in the entire world. USA! USA! USA! (I’m including a volume warning for the video below, for what should be obvious reasons)
Kimberly, otherwise known as Kimycola on TikTok, etched her name in the Guinness World Records book when she let out an impressive burp that hit 107.3 dB. For reference, that’s on the same noise level as your average lawn mower and motorcycle. The record was previously held for an impressive 14 years by a woman from Italy named Elisa Cagnoni, who reached an even 107 dB back in 2009. But now America has its own burp queen, and long may she reign!
Kimberly performed her record-breaking attempt in the Elliot In The Morning studio in Washington, D.C. back in April, though Guinness only just recently announced it. She had to stand a little over 8 feet away from the mic as per the official rules. But that didn’t stop her from unleashing an earth-shattering burp that no doubt shook the walls and filled the studio with the faint scent of pork rinds.
It’s certainly not the most glamorous record to hold, but you can’t deny the skill and discipline it takes to summon a belch that loudly on command. In her official Guinness video profile, Kimberly goes into detail about all she did to prepare her body and mind for this monumental feat. “I prepared…by simply just taking notes, eating different combinations, just seeing what was going to make me burp the loudest.”
Her hard work has clearly paid off, and now she is guaranteed to always have the coolest conversation starter (and possibly ender) in the room. Kimberly admits that her burping has gotten her in trouble with her parents in the past, and even got her kicked out of a bar one time. But now she can look at her impressive belching as a point of pride and recognition. America is proud of you, Kim!
And for reference, the current record-holder for loudest MALE burp belongs to Neville Sharp, an Australian. Fellas of America, you know what to do.
