Sam Asghari Slams ‘Disgusting’ Behavior Toward Britney Spears
Britney Spears and Sam Asghari attend the 2019 Daytime Beauty Awards at The Taglyan Complex on September 20, 2019 in Los Angeles, California.
Britney Spears’ husband, Sam Asghari, is disgusted by the behavior of close members of Britney’s circle. The actor and personal trainer, 29, posted a video to his Instagram Story recently, accusing the pop star’s friends of capitalizing off her 13-year conservatorship.
In a social media post, Sam said that he doesn’t talk much about Britney because he respects her privacy. “The last thing I want to do is speak on my wife’s behalf — I will never do that,” he said. He finds it “absolutely disgusting for the people that were in her life at the time when she didn’t have a voice. They went and told her story like it was theirs. It was absolutely disgusting.”
Taking Aim At Jamie Spears
He discussed how Britney’s father, Jamie Spears controlled his daughter under the conservatorship until September 2021. “And how are you gonna take the most influential person of our generation, the princess of pop, America’s sweetheart, and put her in prison?” Sam continued, “Where her father tells her what to do, what water to drink, who to see, and use her as a money-making machine.”
He seemingly denounced TMZ’s newly released documentary, TMZ Investigates: Britney Spears: The Price of Freedom. “All of a sudden, after 15 years, when she’s free after all those gaslighting and all those things that went down, now you’re gonna put her under a microscope and tell her story? No. No. That’s also disgusting, so don’t do that.”
He also told fans, “Don’t believe what you read online. 99% of the time, those are all clickbaits for you to click and for them to make money,” Sam said. “And that time is over. Not gonna allow that. And that should stop. It should stop absolutely. The gaslighting and all that s— gotta stop.”
Jamie Lynn Spears Denies Involvement In Britney Spears’ Conservatorship
Jamie Lynn Spears sat down for her first interview following her sister Britney Spears’ termination of her conservatorship. Jamie Lynn, 30, spoke with Good Morning America‘s Juju Chang in an interview today (January 12), telling the anchor that she was happy when she found out Britney’s conservatorship ended. However, when the conservatorship was put into place, Jamie Lynn was 17 and about to have a baby, so she said she “didn’t understand what was happening, nor was I focused on that. I was focused on the fact that I was a 17 year old about to have a baby.”
Britney Spears’ 13-year-long conservatorship was terminated this past November, following the suspension of her father, Jamie Spears, who had overseen Britney’s estate and other aspects of her life in his role as her conservator. Jamie Lynn told Chang that she went out of her way to make sure that Britney “had the contacts she needed to possibly go ahead and end this conservatorship and just end this all for our family. If it’s going to cause this much discord, why continue it?”
Jamie Lynn was promoting her new memoir, Things I Should Have Said. Per Variety, Jamie originally announced she would be donating book proceeds to mental health organization, This Is My Brave, but the nonprofit rejected the offer for the donation, bowing to criticism from fans of Britney Spears. Press leaks reported that the working title for the book was initially, “I Must Confess,” a reference to a line from her sister’s debut single, “Baby One More Time.” After swift backlash, the publisher said the title was “incorrect” and “incomplete,” and then announced the official title for the book is Things I Should Have Said.
Jamie Lynn became emotional when discussing the rift between her and Britney, 40. While wiping her tears, Jamie said, “That love is still there, 100%. Um, I love my sister. I’ve only ever loved and supported her and done what’s right by her, and she knows that. So I don’t know why we’re in this position right now.”
Britney seems to have a response to her sister’s interview, with a new Instagram post writing, “Shall I start from THE BEGINNING???” with a photo of a typewriter, hinting at a possible telling of her side of the story.
In recent days, the pop star unfollowed her sister on Instagram, which garnered notice from her fans. See what they had to say below.
