The pop star got candid on TikTok yesterday (April 11) regarding fan "concerns" about her thinner body over the last decade or so. Grande, 29, noted that she wanted to talk about "what it means to be a person with a body and to be seen and to be paid such close attention to."
As she continues filming Wicked, she asked fans to be "gentler and less comfortable commenting on people's bodies, no matter what." And even if the compliments are "well-intentioned," Ariana added that "we just shouldn't" speak on physical appearances.
Non-Appearance Complimenting
"There are ways to compliment someone—or to ignore something that you see that you don't like—that I think we should help each other work towards," she continued in the three-minute-long video. "Just to aim towards being safer and keeping each other safer. There are many different kinds of beautiful. There are many different ways to look healthy and beautiful."
"I know personally, for me, the body that you've been comparing my current body to was the unhealthiest version of my body," Grande stressed. "I was on a lot of antidepressants and drinking on them and eating poorly and at the lowest point of my life when I looked the way you consider my 'healthy.' But in fact, that wasn't my 'healthy.'"

Though the singer said she shouldn't have to explain her body, she hopes "something good" will come out of her "vulnerability," noting that "healthy can look different" for everyone. "You never know what someone is going through," she added in the video, which has nearly 58 million views. "So even if you are coming from a loving place and a caring place, that person probably is working on it. Or has a support system that they are working on it with. You never know, so be gentle with each other and with yourselves."
She concluded her message by addressing her bare face, joking with fans, "these are my eyes, so don't freak out about that now too, please." Her last message to her fans was to let them know they are "beautiful no matter what you're going through. No matter what weight, no matter how you like to do your makeup these days. No matter what cosmetic procedures you've had or not, or anything. I just think you're beautiful and wanted to share some feelings."
One fan commented on the video, "ariana grande my heart just shattered into a million pieces theres tears." Referencing the late Chadwick Boseman, another fan said, "people don't learn fr they did the same thing to chadwick too b4 he passed." Meanwhile, another fan wrote, "ur so sweet. im so sorry this has been a constant issue." Another fan wrote, "You shouldn’t have to explain yourself, no good comes from commenting on people’s bodies. love u."
Rihanna, Dua Lipa, Travis + More: The Most Googled Musicians of 2022
New research has revealed the most Googled musician of 2022 in America, conducted by celebrity news site CelebTattler. The site analyzed Google search data for over 150 of the most influential musicians since January 1, 2022 to determine which celebrity was the most talked about of the year. Commenting on the study, a spokesperson for CelebTattler said: “This year has been a fantastic year for music fans across America with record breaking albums and singles coming from the likes of Taylor Swift, Harry Styles and more. With the music award season in full swing, it will be interesting to see if the most Googled musicians of the year end up winning the most awards too.”
With no shortage of celebrity drama and world tours in full swing once more, it is of no shock that the top 10 musicians who made the list are those currently on on tour or about to go on tour. See below the top 10 most Googled musicians of 2022:
10. Dua Lipa

Dua Lipa rounds out the top ten most Googled musicians list, being Googled 1.44 million times per month on average. Dua Lipa spent the year touring America on her Future Nostalgia tour whilst also collaborating with music legend Elton John.
9. Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber has been Googled 1.49 million times per month by Americans this year.
8. Selena Gomez

The eighth most Googled musician of the year is Selena Gomez. Gomez released new music alongside her tell-all documentary 'My Mind and Me' this year, detailing her mental health struggles whilst battling Lupus. She also may have gained new (older) fans thanks to her co-starring role in 'Only Murders In The Building," alongside boomers Steve Martin and Martin Short. Gomez has been Googled 1.51 million times per month this year.
7. Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande has been Googled an average of 1.68 million times per month in 2022.

4. Travis Scott

Travis Scott ranks fourth with 1.95 million monthly searches to his name, likely as a result of the Astroworld tragedy that made news around the world earlier this year.
3. Kanye West

Kanye West is the third most Googled musician overall. West has been Googled 2.05 million times per month this year. West hit the headlines this year due to many controversial social media posts, many related to his former wife Kim Kardashian and her recent partner, Pete Davidson. Others were related to his antisemitic comments.
2. Harry Styles

Harry Styles received the second highest number of Google searches in America throughout 2022. The British born singer and actor found himself at the center of drama during the promotional tour of Olivia Wilde’s 'Don’t Worry Darling.' The star, who is currently on tour, received 2.09 million searches per month from Americans.
1. Taylor Swift

The study revealed Taylor Swift as the most Googled musician of the year with 2.1 million average searches each month of 2022, in America. Swift recently broke records (and Ticketmaster) after the release of her latest studio album 'Midnights' and the announcement of her Eras tour.
