Ryan Gosling is more than okay with going from a spy to a literal boy toy, adding that he is excited for fans to see his range in his upcoming projects after a five-year acting hiatus.

In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight surrounding this week's release of his new Netflix action/thriller The Gray Man, the 41-year-old actor also teased his role as Barbie's main squeeze in Greta Gerwig's upcoming live-action Barbie movie alongside Margot Robbie.

Speaking of his action role, Gosling said, "What I didn't realize was just how many people it takes to make an action hero. It looks like it’s me doing all those things, and yes, I do some of it, but we had an incredible stunt team, and an incredible special effects team." Gosling stars as Court Gentry, a CIA mercenary who goes rogue when he uncovers agency secrets. He must run for his life as a team of government hitmen, led by his psychopathic ex-colleague, Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans), hunt him across the globe.

In the movie, Evans' character coincidentally refers to Gosling's character as a "Ken doll," which Gosling jokingly said "is not an insult at all! I’m proud of that. I have that Ken-ergy that you can feel, obviously."

"I can't wait for people to see the film," he added to ET. "That's all I can say, otherwise Mattel will come in and box me up."

The Gray Man hits theaters July 15 and will be streaming on Netflix on July 22.

Joining Margot Robbie's Barbie in Greta Gerwig's Barbie movie is Ryan Gosling, who will play Ken after a five-year hiatus from acting.

A first-look photo of Gosling in full character was released today (June 15), donning a sleeveless Canadian tuxedo, Calvin Klein-inspired underwear, an orange-hued tan and platinum locks.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Barbie represents the first time the toy has been rendered as a live-action movie, but has been in development for eight years and underwent many changes, with Amy Schumer and Anne Hathaway circling the role during the script’s previous iterations. Back in April, the project released a photo of Margot Robbie. The film's supporting cast includes America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Kate McKinnon, Ariana Greenblatt, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Mackey, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Issa Rae, Michael Cera, Rhea Perlman and Will Ferrell.

Folks on Twitter had mixed reactions of seeing Ryan Gosling's new look, with an overwhelming amount swooning. See below:
