Machine Gun Kelly is Going Back to His Birth Name Colson Baker
Machine Gun Kelly is hanging up the towel, making way for Colson Baker, the singer/rapper’s birth name. On last night’s (December 2) The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, he told Jimmy that he’s ready for this next stage in his life.
“I haven’t been Colson since I was 15 years old,” he told the late-night host.
“But Colson is better for movies and TV shows?” Jimmy asked, to which Colson replied, “You know, Nickelodeon and Disney don’t like Machine Gun.”
What made Colson fall back in love with his given name was when he was filming TV series Roadies, created by Cameron Crowe. “I had a parking spot that said ‘Colson’ and I walked around and it’d be like, ‘Bob,’ ‘Jimmy,’ and ‘Hey, Colson,” and I was like, man, I think I like my real name again.

His latest project is the thriller The Last Son, about murderous outlaw Isaac LeMay, played by Sam Worthington, who learns he is cursed by a prophecy: one of his children will kill him. To prevent this, he hunts down each of his estranged children including long-lost son Cal (Colson Baker). With bounty hunters and Sheriff Solomon (Thomas Jane) on his tail, LeMay must find a way to stop his children and end the curse. The Last Son hits theaters on December 10.
