Pharrell And Jay-Z’s Powerful New Song ‘Entrepreneur’ Has Dropped
Pharrell and Jay Z have teamed up for a new song titled “Entrepreneur.” Not only is the song powerful, but the video has a compelling message.
The clip features various Black women and men who have started their own businesses, and throughout the song, their stories are told. Featured in the video is Tyler, the Creator, Issa Rae, Broadway star Robert Hartwell, vegan chef Alisa Reynolds, and the first Black Valedictorian of Princeton, Nicolas Johnson. There is also a moment of silence for Nipsey Hussle.
Throughout the song, both Pharrell and Jay-Z are addressing racial inequality, the lack of representation of minorities in the media, and the importance of supporting black businesses.
At one point, Pharrell says, “The system imprison young black boys/Distract with white noise/The brainwashed become hype boys.” Jay-Z adds, “Lies told to you through YouTubes and Hulus/Shows with no hues that look like you do. Black Twitter, what’s that? When Jack gets paid, do you?/For every one Gucci, support two FUBU’s.”
