“After 400 years of unequal treatment, Black Americans have had enough with 'gradual' reform in a nation that prides itself as the world’s greatest democracy. While well-intentioned solutions may have been tried, it is simply too much to ask an oppressed people to stay 'patient.' To finally create the more 'perfect union' all Americans deserve, it is time for a complete paradigm shift in how we run our institutions and operate our country," the document reads.
"While this contract with Black America may seem radical to some, the result will be a harmonious society that benefits EVERYONE rather than the more radical alternative which is watching the great America experiment come apart at the seams."
The contract then goes on to cover the issues of education, reparations, affirmative action, Black representation in government, and voting. It calls for more polling sites in minority and Black neighborhoods as well as mandatory civil rights and anti-racism classes in all elementary schools. You can read the entire document here.
