Tekashi69 Responds To Charity After It Rejected His $200K Donation
Tekashi69 recently attempted to do a good deed by announcing plans to donate ten percent of the proceeds from his blockbuster single “Gooba” to a charity.
The controversial rapper earned about $2million in less than a week from the single and a coinciding line of merchandise, according to TMZ.
Tekashi’s $200,000 donation would have gone to No Kid Hungry, a non-profit which works to cease child hunger, which has increased due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, No Kid Hungry rejected Tekashi69’s donation and issued a statement explaining how the rapper’s values are not in alignment with their mission.
Nevertheless, the organization thanked Tekashi. “We are grateful for Mr. Hernandez’s generous offer to donate to No Kid Hungry but we have informed his representatives that we have declined this donation,” said the organization.
“As a child-focused campaign, it is our policy to decline funding from donors whose activities do not align with our mission and values.”
Tekashi didn’t take the organization’s rejection well and he took to Instagram to put the non-profit on blast in a now-deleted post.
“@nokidhungry rather take food out the mouth of these innocent children I never seen something so cruel,” Tekashi69 wrote in his post.
