Lizzo Explains How Prince Influenced Her Career
Lizzo went on CBS This Morning today and continued her seeming mission to spreading positivity. She once again addressed the criticism she received after the Lakers game, saying, “I stay in my own positive bubble.” She then says, “It’s their opinion, so it’s not for me to really ingest. Anyone who knows me knows that this is how I’ve always been. This is how I’ve always liked to dress.”
"It's their opinion, so it's not for me to really ingest... So I got up and did what I always do. Anyone who knows me knows that this is how I've always been. This is how I've always liked to dress." - @Lizzo reacts to her dancing at the @Lakers game pic.twitter.com/tMZ3xVgJob

She also talked about how Prince influenced her career. She explains, “The day before and the day after leaving Paisley Park transformed me from just like, a musician to an artist. I think I learned how to be an artist… The difference is I have talent. I can sing. I can rap. I can play an instrument. I can write songs, but an artist creates art with those things. You can do, and you can create art.”
She adds, “And I learned how to kinda marry my sounds. I had so many different weird styles, and I was shy about them and insecure, and I didn’t know which one I was better at. But you don’t have to be better at either or any of them, you just have to be yourself.”
The CBS This Morning crew also gave her a tiny mug to match the tiny purse she rocked at the American Music Awards.
