Taylor Swift Calls Out Haters in New Song ‘You Need to Calm Down’
Taylor Swift may be the queen of dropping hints, but there is nothing subtle about her message to her haters in her new single “You Need to Calm Down.”
The singer released the single off of her new upcoming album, Lover, at midnight on Friday, June 14.
“Say it in the street/That’s a knock out/but you say it in a Tweet/That’s a cop out,” she sings, seemingly calling out the Internet trolls who have plenty to say about her.
Taylor also shows love to the LGBTQ community with the line “Why are you mad/When you could be GLAAD,” as well as the line, “Cause shade never made anybody less gay.”
She also adds plenty of girl power, noting that she and her fellow girls are all worthy of crowns.
