Panic! at the Disco Just Broke a Major Record with ‘High Hopes’
Panic! at the Disco’s “High Hopes” has just made history, becoming the longest-leading adult pop song to reign at number one this decade.
According to Billboard, the smash hit has spent a whopping 15 weeks at number one. It was previously tied with Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You” for 14 weeks before beating it out this week.
The last song to stay at the top this long was The Fray’s “How to Save a Life,” back in 2006/2007. If the song can hold on for another 11 weeks, it will beat out the longest holding song, Santana’s “Smooth” (featuring Rob Thomas).
“High Hopes” has been Panic’s top song, becoming their highest on the Billboard charts at No. 4 before it became No. 1.
