Taylor Swift Meets Young Fan She Helped Get A Service Dog
Taylor Swift finally met 8-year-old Jacob Hill two years after she donated $10,000 to help him get a therapy dog.
Taylor invited Jacob, who has autism, and his service dog, Reid, to join her at her show in Houston. She gave him front row seats and backstage passes, which he also was able to share with his mom and his sister.
“Taylor Swift was so kind. She said Reid was a big puffball and so cute. She was especially awesome with Jacob,” his mom shared on a Facebook post for the group Autism Speaks. “She didn’t see my son’s disability she just saw him. She got on her knees and looked him right in the eyes and said hello and she was thankful HE came to her show even though she knew it was loud and there was so much going on.”
This all happened because Taylor saw a video Jacob’s sister and cousin made of her song “Blank Space” in 2016. The girls switched up the lyrics in the chorus to ask for donations: “We got a long list of donations / But we don’t see your name / We got a blank space baby / So donate today.”
Taylor and her mom donated $10,000 to Jacob’s GoFundMe page with the note, “Jacob, we hope you love your new dog! Please tell your cousins that they did a great job on the song! Love, Taylor and Andrea Swift.”
With the help of his service dog, Jacob can now go in stores, cross busy streets, and steer clear of dangerous situations.
