According to NBC News, the individuals who filed the lawsuit claim the affordable homes sold to them were defective.
More specifically, they state the materials used to build the homes were faulty -- Leading to repairs.
Moreover, the lawsuit states Make It Right was aware of the issues, but failed to alert homeowners.
At this time, neither Pitt nor the charity have responded to a request for comment.
Make It Right was founded by Pitt 11 years ago, with the mission of helping people who lost their homes after Hurricane Katrina.
While the residents of Lower Ninth Ward maintain they are grateful that Pitt's charity helped them during their difficult time, they are now left with homes in need of major repairs -- At costs they simply cannot afford.
