Dua previously charted with 3 other songs, but she never reached the top 20 until "New Rules".
This is Warner Brothers Record's first pop chart #1 song by a female since Madonna's song "Take a Boy", which was number one 23 years ago.
Dua will be performing on Saturday Night Live this Saturday, February 3.
